The program description
deals with the following:
The data for keyboard type PS2
can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data
which already exists can also be displayed for information.
The interface and link to a
processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode set.
Note:
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS
application permits configuration of 3 different generic entry devices, two for
connection to the PS2 interface and one for connection to the COM interface.

Keyboards of type PS2 are
POS keyboards which are connected up via the PS2 port of a system unit. The
keyboard type has to be defined in update program PS2
keyboard type and
the key codes entered in program PS2 key assignment. The function keys required for
operation of the POS software should be defined in program Keyboard.
If additional devices, e.g.
magnetic card reader, central lock, waiter lock, etc. are to be connected to
this keyboard, the appropriate key codes must be entered in program PS2
device data format.

Only select a value
higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol for communication
of the keyboard is required for error analysis or to ascertain the key
codes. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate
system unit.
