Keyboard
The
following program description deals with:
A
detailed description of the posting functions of each of the keys can be found
in the section Key Functions.
With
this program you can maintain the basic data,
i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. You can also
display the data on the screen for enquiry only.
A keyboard with the related keyboard table must be
configured for the following devices:
- Operating
module old (ADS 48)
- Operating
module new (TopCash)
- Operating
module comp.
- ADS

- PC POS

The configuration is as follows:
- First configure a Keyboard, define the number
of rows and columns for the keyboard and then define the position and the
function of all Keys required to operate the POS program.
Note:
A program can be called up with button Keyboard program in to allow the position and the function of each individual
key to be updated via a graphic user interface. The keyboard events for
the key functions can be selected from the list and linked to the key..
Then link the appropriate keyboard to the appropriate device type..
Remarks on the input fields
This
paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating
these Basic Data.
Just
like in almost any other program:
- The Input Mask may
be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the
application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.
- Some input fields may contain default values or
defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
- The input mask contains some fields that require
an entry and others in which entries are optional.
- If the data record is updated via multi-page
input masks, go to the Dialog Window by
clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure applies to call up another
update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find that so-called
"Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated
or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified
by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Enter
into this field the number of keyboard to be created in the system.
To
add a new record, enter an unused number in the Key
Fields.
For
changes or deletions, the records can be retrieved by entering the numbers in
the key fields. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data
record via the Search Function.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20
characters
This
input field is the name of the keyboard. Use a descriptive name (e.g. Gastro 90
Keyboard, etc.) for a better overview of the data in the system.
Permitted input range: numeric 1 - 99
Enter
the number of key rows which are required on this keyboard.
Permitted input range: numeric 1 - 99
Enter
the number of key columns which are required on this keyboard.
