The program description deals with the following:
The data for the ADS keyboard of type TopKey can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed for information.
The interface and link to a processing unit is defined and the device-specific operating mode is set.
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.
As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Only enter a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol is required for the communication of the keyboard for error analysis. The information is provided in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.

Enter a number for the ADS POS keyboard in this field. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the search function.
Switch active: A scanner is connected to this keyboard
Switch deactivated: A scanner is not connected to this keyboard
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 999999999
Enter a value in this field to define the ton duration (in milliseconds) for the Beeper.
Default = 500 Milliseconds
Switch active: A magnetic card reader is connected to this keyboard
Switch deactivated: A magnetic card reader is not connected to this keyboard
Switch active: A central lock is connected to this keyboard
Switch deactivated: A central lock is not connected to this keyboard
Switch active: A waiter lock is connected to this keyboard
Switch deactivated: A waiter lock is not connected to this keyboard
Switch active: A chip card reader is connected to this keyboard
Switch deactivated: No chip card reader is connected to this keyboard
When the switch Chip card reader is activated, additional data should be entered in fields Key, Event, ASCII-BIN Convert and Prefix in program Chip data.
Note:
Please note that if chip cards are in use the
card reader parameters should also be updated in update program Application
-> Organisation -> Branch -> Card reader parameter to ensure that
the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program can read the required data and can execute the
appropriate function at the POS terminal.
