The program description is divided up as follows:
The data for the keyboard of type Generic Ps2 device can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can be displayed.
The interface and linkage to a process unit must be defined and the device-specific operation mode set.
Note:
The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application allows for configuration of 3 different
generic input devices; two for connection to the PS2 interface and one for
connection to the COM interface.

· Dallas key lock (Aures Elios hardware)
· Generic COM device ( -> COM interface)

Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol for the communications of the keyboard is
required to identify the key code. Data is provided in file
"errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system
unit.

Select one of the offered types of device types by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
Note:
The prerequisite for selection of the device type is that the appropriate type
is stored in the system. If no device type has been programmed, a click on the
button will open the window Display description. The Generic
device can then be programmed.

· 21 = HP MSR (COM)
· 22 = HP MSR (HID)

· 34 = Dallas Aures

40 = JS 935 MSR = Magnetic strip reader
Attention! This generic input device is only available if the
environment variable "OSCAR_OPTIONS=PanasonicHW" was set in the file
"oscar.ini".

· 50 = Honeywell Xenon Scan
· 200 = Wedge Scanner
Entry range permitted: numeric 100 -10000
The maximum delay between related key sequences in milliseconds.
Default = 200 milliseconds
Button active: This keyboard
has a central lock. In this case, a special routine is run to identify the
current lock position.
Button deactivated: This keyboard does not have a central lock.
Button active: This keyboard
has a waiter lock (Dallas key). In this case, a special routine is run to
identify the current waiter key.
Button deaactivated: This keyboard has no waiter lock
(Dallas key).
