Transaction Numbers lvbS and htnC

In the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS server database and client database of every terminal client, the booked transaction numbers are stored.

• The server stores the last booked transaction number = lvbS
• The terminal client stores the next free transaction number = htnC

At the program start, the client compares the highest transaction number with the transaction number the server has stored as the last booked transaction number for this client.

If the last booked transaction number of the server (lvbS) differs from the highest transaction no. known to the client (htnC), there are the following possibilities:

• lvbS (MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Server) is greater than htnC (terminal client).
  In this case, the error message "Fatal error: wrong transaction counter lvbS / htnC" is recorded in the file errlog.
• lvbS (MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Server) is smaller than htnC (terminal client).
  In this case, the error message "Fatal error: cannot read local transaction lvbS + 1" is recorded in the file errlog.

Example:
In the server database, the transaction number = 7 (lvbS) of the last booked transaction of the terminal client no. 1001 is stored (see Application -> Sales -> Transaction Process).

In the client database of the terminal client no. 1001, the next free transaction no. = 8 (htnC) is stored (see System -> Configuration -> Process Units Status -> Process).
