XML Import table

The program description is divided up as follows:

Remarks on program function

The XML import tables can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

Please note:
During import of XML files the XML inspector searches the directory "FILE IMPORT" for files defined in this update program. If a matching XML file is found in this directory this is moved to directory "XML IMPORT". If an XSLT file is defined for this XML import file, this is transformed and the result is then stored in directory "XML IMPORT OSC". The final data import into the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database is done from this directory.

If no XSLT file has been defined, it is assumed that the file to be imported matches the data format of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database and the file is moved directly to directory "XML IMPORT OSC" for data import.

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:

Company

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the company for which the XML import tables are to be processed.

Changes or deletions can be made by calling up the data record with a number entry in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be called up via the Search function.

Branch

The directory in which this file is stored is defined in program Branch -> Export path with the variable "XML IMPORT OSC".

Please note:
When XML files are imported the XML inspector supervises directory "FILE IMPORT" and checks files which are defined in this program. If a matching XML file is found in this directory this will be moved to directory "XML IMPORT". If a XSLT file is defined for this XML import file it will be transformed and the result will be stored in directory "XML IMPORT OSC". Final import into the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database is done from this directory.

If no XSLT file is defined it is assumed that the file to be imported matches the data format of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database and the XML file is moved directly to directory "XML IMPORT OSC" for data import.

XSL filename

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 32 chars.

The name of the XSLT file is stated in this field. This file is used for transformation of the XML import file.

The directory for the storage location of this file is defined in program Branch -> Export path with the variable "XML STYLESHEET".

Please note:
If no XSLT file is defined it is assumed that the file to be imported matches the data format of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS database and the XML file is moved directly to directory "XML IMPORT OSC" for data import.

Button deactivated: No manual validation of the XML import file.

The XML import files can be validated manually or modified with the validation program XML import manual prior to final data import.

The directory for storage of this file is defined in program Branch -> Export path with the variable "XML IMPORT MAN".
