Creating a Weight Item

This chapter will inform you about how to create a weight item to be able to scan it at a later point in time.

Example:
You create the item "Schnitzel", item no. 712765, price per kg: EUR 10.00 an.

Open the window Item.

• Company: 1
• Item: 712765
• Descriptor: Schnitzel (veal cutlet)
• Department: 2/Meat
• The option Sales Item is activated.
• Save your entries.

Open the sub-window Prices.

• Price List: 1
• Price: 10.00
• Close the window.
• Now you are back in the window Item. Save again.

Open the sub-window Sales.

• Sales Quantity Unit: 2/Kilogram
  Help on how to create a sales quantity unit can be found in the chapter Maintenance – Quantity Unit.
• Do not activate the option "Scale Item".
• Close the window.
• Now you are back in the window Item. Save again.

Now you have created a weight item. In order to be able to scan it you must set the corresponding EAN parameters. This procedure is described in the corresponding Update Program or by use of an example in the chapter Maintenance – EAN Parameters.
