Chapter 59: Purging Coupon Redemption Records (MPCP)
Purpose: Use the Purge Redeemed Coupons function to purge redeemed and expired coupon records from the Coupon Redemption file.
Overview: When you generate and print a batch of coupons through the Coupon Generation function, some of the coupons are redeemed before the expiration date designated and some are not. In order to delete the redeemed and expired coupons from the system you must purge the records.
Purpose: Use this screen to purge redeemed or expired coupon records from the Coupon Redemption file and create the Print Purged Coupons Report. You can purge coupons by redeemed date or expired date.

How to display this screen: Enter MPCP in the Fast path field at the top of any menu or select Purge Redeemed Coupons from a menu.

Redeemed |
This value indicates whether to purge coupons by the date they were redeemed. Valid values are: Y = Purge coupons by redemption date N = Do not purge coupons by redemption date A coupon is redeemed when a customer uses it as payment for an order. If you enter Y, the system purges coupons redeemed on or before the date you enter in the Date Redeemed field. Alphanumeric, 1 position; required. |
Date (Date redeemed) |
The cutoff coupon redemption date. The system purges all coupons redeemed on or before this date if you entered Y in the Redeemed field. Numeric, 6 positions (MMDDYY format); required if you entered Y in the Redeemed field. |
Expired |
This value indicates whether to purge expired coupons. Valid values are: Y = Purge coupons by expiration date N = Do not purge coupons by expiration date A coupon expires when the coupon expiration date is less than the current date. When the coupon expires, it is no longer a valid method of payment. If you enter Y, the system purges coupons expired on or before the date you enter in the Date Expired field. Alphanumeric, 1 position; required. |
