Chapter 73: Working with PkMS Item Cross Reference (PKIR)

Purpose: Use the Work with PkMS Item Cross Reference Screen to cross reference CWDirect's item number and SKU codes to the equivalent PkMS item.

Note: If the PkMS Use SKU Retail Reference (I86) system control value is set to Y, instead of using the PkMS item cross reference menu option to identify the CWDirect item and SKU, the system uses the SKU retail reference number field in the SKU file to identify the CWDirect item number and SKU code in the PkMS messages.

How to display this screen: Enter PKIR in the Fast path field at the top of any menu or select PkMS Item Cross Reference from a menu.

Description

PkMS field

The PkMS field that equates to the corresponding CWDirect value. The PkMS item is made up of 9 fields:

• Season

• Season year

• Style

• Style suffix

• Color

• Color suffix

• Second dimension

• Quality

• Size range code

Alphanumeric, 25 positions; display-only.

Len (PkMS record length)

The number of positions each PkMS field fills in the file. The 9 PkMS item fields that make up CWDirect's item and SKU consist of 39 positions:

• Season: 2 positions

• Season year: 2 positions

• Style: 8 positions

• Style suffix: 8 positions

• Color: 4 positions•

• Color suffix: 2 positions

• Second dimension: 3 positions

• Quality: 1 position

• Size range code: 4 positions

Numeric, 3 positions; display-only.

Item SKU fields

The name of the CWDirect field that corresponds to the PkMS field.

 

Item: Enter Item in the CWDirect field that corresponds to the PkMS field that represents item number.

SKU element 1: Enter SKU Element 1 in the CWDirect field that corresponds to the PkMS field that represents SKU element 1. If you are using the full 14-character SKU, enter SKU in the field.

SKU element 2: Enter SKU Element 2 in the CWDirect field that corresponds to the PkMS field that represents SKU element 2. If you are using the full 14-character SKU, enter SKU in the field.

SKU element 3: Enter SKU Element 3 in the CWDirect field that corresponds to the PkMS field that represents SKU element 3. If you are using the full 14-character SKU, enter SKU in the field.

Alphanumeric, 13 positions; optional.

Start (PkMS start position)

The position in the CWDirect field where the corresponding PkMS field should start. For example, if you enter Item in the Item SKU fields and enter 4 in the Start field and 12 in the End field, PkMS will take positions 4-12 of CWDirect's item number to correspond to the PkMS field.

Numeric, 3 positions; required if you enter a valid value in the CWDirect field.

End (PkMS end position)

The position in the CWDirect field where the corresponding PkMS field should end. For example, if you enter Item in the Item SKU fields and enter 4 in the Start field and 12 in the End field, PkMS will take positions 4-12 of CWDirect's item number to correspond to the PkMS field.

An error message similar to the following displays if you enter an end position that is less than the start position:

End position must be greater than start position (4).

Numeric, 3 positions; required if you enter a valid value in the CWDirect field.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Enter the CWDirect field in the Item SKU field next to the PkMS field you wish it to correspond to.

2. Enter the position of the CWDirect field you wish the PkMS field to start with in the Start field.

3. Enter the position of the CWDirect field you wish the PkMS field to end with in the End field.

4. Press Enter. The system validates your entries and highlights any fields that you need to correct. Correct these fields as needed.

Item cross reference example: How CWDirect's item number and SKU codes cross reference to the PkMS item:

To cross reference CWDirect's item number:

1. Enter Item in the Item SKU field associated with the PkMS field Style.

2. Enter 1 in the Start field and 8 in the End field associated with the PkMS field Style.

To cross reference CWDirect's SKU element 1:

1. Enter SKU Element 1 in the Item SKU field associated with the PkMS field Style suffix.

2. Enter 1 in the Start field and 4 in the End field associated with the PkMS field Style suffix.

To cross reference CWDirect's SKU element 2:'

1. Enter SKU Element 2 in the Item SKU field associated with the PkMS field Color.

2. Enter 1 in the Start field and 4 in the End field associated with the PkMS field Color.

To cross reference CWDirect's SKU element 3:

1. Enter SKU Element 3 in the CWDirect field associated with the PkMS field Second dimension.

2. Enter 1 in the Start field and 3 in the End field associated with the PkMS field Second dimension.
