Working with Source Cross Reference Codes (WSCR)

Purpose: Use the Source Cross Reference file to establish a link between a source code in CWDirect and an equivalent key code from another system. This file is referenced when receiving orders on CWDirect via the phone interface and when passing information from CWDirect to the other system.

Work with Source Cross Reference Screen

Purpose: Use this screen to enter source cross reference information, or to update existing information.

How to display this screen: Enter WSCR in the Fast Path field at the top of any menu or select the Work with Source Cross Reference option from a menu..

Description

Source (Source code)

A unique, user-defined identification code that drives marketing, forecasting, pricing, freight, and service charge information on an order.

The source code identifies a segment of your customer base and is used to analyze sales. See Working with Source Codes (WSRC).

Alphanumeric, 7 positions; required.

Effort

A code that identifies the segment of the customer base, used in conjunction with the Version field.

Alphanumeric, 3 positions; required.

Version

A code that identifies the segment of the customer base, used in conjunction with the Effort field.

Alphanumeric, 2 positions; required.

Comm % (Commission percentage)

The percentage at which a commission is earned for orders placed for this source code and syndication.

Numeric, 5 positions with a 2-place decimal; required.

Syn (Syndication code)

The code for the syndication from which the orders originated. A syndication is a third party that advertises or accepts orders for your products. You, in turn, pay the syndication a commission for promoting your products.

Valid values are:

P: JC Penney

O: Other

S: Spiegel

Alphanumeric, 1 position; required.

Procedure

Create a cross-reference record

Complete each of the enterable fields to create a new record.

Update or delete a cross-reference record

Press F8 to switch between display mode and entry mode so that the existing record fields are enterable. Type over the existing information to change it or to clear it.
