The samd utility starts up or shuts down the sam-amld daemon,
or shuts down the HSM daemons for HA-SAM failover.
This utility can also be used to reinitialize the StorageTek QFS
and Oracle HSM configuration files and allow changes to take effect.
This command accepts the following options:
buildmcfCreates a new ∕etc∕opt∕SUNWsamfs∕mcf file if one does not exist.
This is useful when configuring shared clients for the first time, after
the file systems have been created on the metadata server. Only
disk devices will be discovered and entered into the mcf.
configCauses the sam-fsd daemon to (re)configure based
on changes to the ∕etc∕opt∕SUNWsamfs∕mcf, ∕etc∕opt∕SUNWsamfs∕archiver.cmd,
and ∕etc∕opt∕SUNWsamfs∕defaults.conf files.
startStarts up the sam-amld daemon if the ∕etc∕opt∕SUNWsamfs∕mcf
file exists and the sam-amld daemon is not already running.
Implemented only in Oracle HSM archiving environments.
Not a valid argument in a StorageTek QFS file system-only environment.
stopKills the sam-amld daemon.
Implemented only in Oracle HSM archiving environments.
Not a valid argument in a StorageTek QFS file system-only environment.
hastopKills the sam-archiverd, sam-stagealld, sam-stagerd
and sam-amld daemon for HA-SAM failover.
Daemons killed by 'hastop' will not be restarted by the sam-fsd.
Implemented only in Oracle HSM archiving environments.
Not a valid argument in a StorageTek QFS file system-only environment.
