Copying an Object

You can copy reports, documents, filters, prompts, folders, and other objects.

Copying an object is different from creating a shortcut to an object. A shortcut is only a reference to an object, not an actual copy of it.

To copy an object:

  1. Browse to the folder that contains the object you want to copy.

  2. Right-click the object to copy and select Copy. The Copy dialog box opens.

  3. If you want to give the object a different name, enter a different name in the Name field, for example, append the word copy to the original name.

  4. Do one of the following:

Browse to the folder where you want to copy the object to and click OK.

Or

Create a new folder to copy the object into by clicking the Create New Folder icon Create New Folder icon. Enter a name for the new folder and click OK.

The object is copied to the folder.
