Adding, Modifying, Duplicating, and Deleting Panels from a Quick Dashboard

You can use panels to create stacks of analytic layers on a single quick dashboard page. Panels summarize key business indicators in easy-to-read interfaces and are essential building blocks for interactive quick dashboards. Once you add panels to a quick dashboard, users can switch between panels to view the different layers of data. If you filter or group data in the quick dashboard, the data will be filtered or grouped across all panels in a single layout tab.

Panels added to a quick dashboard will be displayed as panels in a panel stack if you convert the quick dashboard into a document. For steps, see Converting a Visual Insight quick dashboard into a document.

Prerequisites

The following procedures assume you have already created the quick dashboard in which you want to add, modify, duplicate, or delete panels.
You must have the Edit Dashboard and Run Dashboard privileges.

To add a panel to a quick dashboard

Click the name of the quick dashboard to run it.
From the Tools menu, select Add Panel. A new, empty panel is added to the quick dashboard. Add text, visualizations, and other elements to the panel. For steps, see Creating a Visual Insight quick dashboard.

To rename a panel in a quick dashboard

Click the name of the quick dashboard to run it.
Hover the cursor over the name of the panel, then click the arrow icon displayed in the top right. A list of options is displayed. Select Rename.
Type a name for the panel in the field, then press ENTER.

To rearrange panels in a quick dashboard

Click the name of the quick dashboard to run it.
Hover the cursor over the name of the panel, then click the arrow icon displayed in the top right. A list of options is displayed. Select one of the following:
- To move the panel one spot to the left in the list of panels, select Move Left.
- To move the panel one spot to the right in the list of panels, select Move Right.

To duplicate a panel from a quick dashboard

Click the name of the quick dashboard to run it.
Hover the cursor over the name of the panel, then click the arrow icon displayed in the top right. A list of options is displayed.
Select Duplicate. The new panel is added to the quick dashboard.

To delete a panel from a quick dashboard

Click the name of the quick dashboard to run it.
Hover the cursor over the name of the panel, then click the arrow icon displayed in the top right. A list of options is displayed.
Select Delete. A confirmation message is displayed. Click OK to remove the panel from the quick dashboard.
