You can create a dashboard directly from a report. The report is added to the dashboard as a dataset, and any qualifications included in the report's filter are also applied to the data displayed in the dashboard.
For grid reports, the grid is displayed as a Grid visualization.
For graph reports, the graph is displayed as a Graph visualization.
For reports displayed in Grid and Graph view, either a Grid or Graph visualization will be displayed depending on which view is displayed on the left or top of the report. For example, if the grid is displayed above the graph in the report, the dashboard will display a Grid visualization.
If the report's Page-by panel contains any objects, each attribute, custom group, or consolidation on the Page-by panel is added to the dashboard as a filter in the Filters panel. All metrics included in the grid or graph are also displayed in the dashboard, regardless of whether the Metrics object is included on the Page-by panel.
You must have document designer privileges.
You must have the Edit Dashboard, Create Dashboard, and Run Dashboard privileges.
This procedure assumes that you have already created the report to convert into a dashboard. For steps to create a report, see Creating a report.
