Table 3-1 Business Role in Lifecycle Curve Profile Maintenance

Central Sales Planner

The Central Sales Planner maintains the curves.

Lifecycle Curves Task

The Central Sales Planner defines a library of lifecycle curves in this task, or reviews them if they were loaded externally. These curves are used to generate the weekly sales plan for each style-color in the Buying Plan task.

This task has the following step:

Create the Lifecycle Curves Workbook

To create the Lifecycle Curves workbook:

  1. Select the New Workbook icon in the Lifecycle Curves task.

    The workbook wizard opens.

  2. In the Select Product(s) page, select the products for which lifecycle curves are to be assessed. The lowest dimension is Subclass. Click Finish.

    The workbook is created.

Step 1 - Set Curve Profiles

In this step, the Central Sales Planner defines a library of lifecycle curves for each subclass. The Central Sales Planner specifies a Sales Curve Label and Sales Curve % for each profile. The Sales Curve percentages are normalized to ensure the total adds up to 100.

The number of Curve Library profiles is initially determined in the hierarchy load, but the Curve Library hierarchy is Dynamic Position Maintenance (DPM) enabled and the merchant/trader may add positions as necessary.

These curves are later used to generate the weekly sales plan for each style-color in the Buying Plan creation task.

This step has the following views:
