Exporting P6 Projects to P6 XML or XER

To transfer your P6 projects and project data, you must prepare your environment for export and then export the data from your preferred P6 application.

To export P6 project data to a P6 XML or XER file, follow the steps below:

1. Preparing to Export: Check version compatibility, consolidate database instances, and modify data, if necessary.
2. Export your data:
   • Export P6 EPPM Project Data to P6 XML: Follow these steps if you use the P6 EPPM web application.
   • Export P6 Professional Project Data to P6 XML or XER: Follow these steps if you use the P6 Professional desktop client application.
