Changing Microsoft SQL Server Information

Use the SQL Server Database Configuration for OBIEE utility to change the hostname or instance name of a Microsoft SQL Server.

  1. Navigate to and double-click root\MyMicros\SQLServerOBIEEConfiguration\SQLServerOBIEEConfiguration.exe to start the SQL Server Database Configuration for OBIEE utility.
  2. The Driver field shows the file path to the Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. You can enter the file path in the field if the utility cannot find the ODBC dll file.
  3. For the AGGREGATION server:
    1. The Server field shows the hostname and instance name (if applicable) of the Aggregation database server. You can edit the name using this field.
    2. The Database field shows the database to which you are currently connected.
  4. For the REPORTING & ANALYTICS server:
    1. The Server field shows the hostname and instance name (if applicable) of the Reporting and Analytics database server. You can edit the name using this field.
    2. The CORE Database field shows the core database to which you are currently connected.
    3. The LOCATION ACTIVITY Database field shows the location activity database to which you are currently connected.
  5. Click Save to make the changes to the database server names.
