Prepare for Installation

1. Gather the required tools.

   See Required Tools.

2. Unpack the shipping kit that includes the storage drive.
   1. Unpack the storage drive in a static-free environment.

      See Ship Kit Contents.

   2. Remove the storage drive from its packaging, and place the drive on an antistatic mat, using good antistatic grounding procedures.

3. Carefully inspect the storage drive for shipment damage.
