A physical iBeacon has a representation in the repository so that it can add a display name for the beacon used in apps, a list of alerts to display upon entering or exiting a beacon range, a URL for the client to navigate to and the ATG store associated with the iBeacon.

You can represent more than one physical iBeacon with a single repository item and vice-versa depending on your needs. Through the BCC or using startSQLRepository imports , iBeacon and ibeaconAlert items are added to the repository for the app features to work when an iBeacon is encountered.

You can use the BCC to edit the versioned assets iBeacon and ibeaconAlert items in the management schema. They are deployed to the production server.
