Navigating Within the Function Space Diary Time Range

You can navigate within the Function Space Diary views to reach any required date and time period, moving in increments of one day or one week or back or forward.

This task is a step in Process of Managing the Function Space Diary.

To navigate within the Function Space Diary time range

  1. Navigate to the Function Space Diary screen.
  2. Select a property and date for which you have a record.
  3. Choose an appropriate time scale from the Time Scale drop-down list (for example, Week/Day) and then click the Go button.

The Function Space Diary displays your selected date as the first date in the view.

  4. Move backward and forward in the diary by using the paging buttons.

The paging buttons are located on the side of each diary view, after the view tabs bar. The buttons are described in the table that follows.

    Next column

Move forward one day at a time.

    Previous column

Move backward one day at a time.

    Next column set

Move forward one week at a time.

    Previous column set

NOTE:  When the diary displays a Month/Day-of-Week time scale, the paging buttons behave in a slightly different manner. For more information, see Navigation for the Month/Day-of-Week Time Scale.

Navigation for the Month/Day-of-Week Time Scale

When the Month/Day-of-Week option is selected in the Time Scale field, the information in the diary view changes to display instances of that particular day of the week. This change in the diary view slightly alters the behavior of the paging buttons.

For example, if the Start Date is 1/1/2012, which is a Sunday, then eight instances of Sunday are displayed in the diary view, January 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, and February 5, 12, and 19. In this case, the paging buttons display the following behaviors:

  • When you click Next column, the view changes to display eight instances of Monday, starting with January 2.
  • When you click Previous column, the eight instances of Sunday reappear.
  • When you click Next column set, the diary advances one week to display the appropriate day of the next week. The diary displays January 8, 15, 22, and 29, and February 5, 12, 19, and 26.
  • When you click Previous column set, the diary moves backward one week to redisplay the previous eight instances of Sunday, starting with January 1.
