Creating a Project from a Charter/Proposal

Once a proposal is approved, a project can be created from the proposal. An approved proposal will have an Accept Proposal & Create Project button on the Proposal Details page. Click the Accept Proposal & Create Project button on this page to create a project.

When a project is created from a proposal, the proposal is removed from the Proposals page and an active project is added to the list of projects displayed on the Projects page. The following actions are carried out by the system within the context of that particular project:

  1. The project’s phases, tasks and deliverables are setup based on the project type and roadmap selected when the proposal was created. Phase due dates and tool template associations with tasks/deliverables are also setup based on the chosen roadmap.
  2. The first phase of the roadmap is made the current phase of the project.
  3. The initial team is pre-populated from the proposal and each team member is notified about the creation of the project.
  4. The primary metric is setup based on your selection in the proposal.
  5. All financial categories and sub-categories are setup and initialized to zero.
  6. The multiplication factors for each financial category (if appropriate) are setup.
  7. All the appropriate custom fields are set up.
