Use the Calendar menu in the navigation menu to see a real-time report on the open and closed change requests and on the business events related to your organization's services, which are scheduled for the current month or any of the previous and the next 12 months, as explained in the following sections:

The Calendar dashboard (
) provides information about the scheduled change requests (RFCs) and the business events related to your organization's services, as follows:
Scheduled RFCs start with letter C. Hovering over a scheduled RFC shows the environment affected by the RFC, and the duration required for the RFC to be applied.
Color codes are used to differentiate between open change events (highlighted in orange) and closed change events (highlighted in green). Click any color-coded event to open the View RFC page on the My Oracle Support portal.
Business events start with letter B. Hovering over a business event shows the activity type and the environment affected by the business event, if any.
Color codes are used to differentiate between the various types of business events. Click any color-coded event to see detailed information about the corresponding business event, as explained in Viewing a Business Event.
Use the filter in the upper part of the Calendar Monthly View and List View tabs to select the type of records for which you want to generate the reports covering the specified time interval, as explained in Filtering Records.
By default, information on the Calendar dashboard is generated for the current month. For more information on how to display change requests and business events scheduled for up to 12 months in the future or 12 months in the past, see the Generating Reports for Different Time Periods section in Chapter 3, "Working with Oracle Pulse".

To access the Calendar dashboard:
Sign in to Oracle Pulse as explained in the Accessing Oracle Pulse section in Chapter 1, "Introduction".
The Pulse Dashboard is displayed by default.
Click Calendar in the navigation menu.
The Calendar Monthly View page opens.

By default, events on the Calendar dashboard appear in the GMT time zone. However, you can view and work with events your own time zone by changing the time zone in which the events are displayed, as explained in the Changing the Timezone of Your Reports section in Chapter 3, "Working with Oracle Pulse".
Click the icons in the upper left corner to access the tabs on the Calendar dashboard:
Click
to access the Calendar Monthly View. For more information, see Using the Calendar Monthly View.
Click
to access the Calendar List View. For more information, see Using the Calendar List View.
The Calendar Monthly View, which opens by default when you click the Calendar icon (
), provides a real-time report on the open and closed change requests and on the business events related to your organization's services, which are scheduled for the current month or any of the previous and the next 12 months.
By default, information on the Calendar Monthly View tab is displayed for the current month. Use the Select Time Interval icon (
) to see the records for any individual month over the previous and the next 12 months, as explained in the Generating Reports for Different Time Periods section in Chapter 3, "Working with Oracle Pulse".
Click any change request record to open the View RFC page on the My Oracle Support portal.
Click any business event record to open the business event details page. For more information on the business event details page, see Viewing a Business Event.
The Calendar List View shows records for the change requests and business events available for your organization's services in the specified time range.
By default, information on the Calendar List View tab is displayed for the current month. Use the Select Time Interval icon (
) to see the records for the last complete year, any individual month or any time range covering the previous and the next 12 months, as explained in the Generating Reports for Different Time Periods section in Chapter 3, "Working with Oracle Pulse".
The following information is displayed for each record in the Calendar List View:
The change request number and description OR the business event description or type
The environment the change request or business event is associated with
The date when the change request or business event is scheduled to start
The date when the change request or business event is scheduled to end
Click any change request record to open the View RFC page on the My Oracle Support portal.
Click any business event record to open the business event details page. For more information on the business event details page, see Viewing a Business Event.

The following sections describe the ways in which you can work with business events:
Only customer users with the Authorized Approver role can add business events.
To create a business event:
Navigate to either the Calendar Monthly or List View, as explained in Accessing the Calendar Dashboard and Navigating the Calendar Dashboard.
Select the timezone you want to create the event on. The selected timezone is displayed in the upper-right side of the Create Business Event dialog.
Click the Create Event icon (
) in the right part of the page.
The Create Business Event dialog box opens.
In the Event Type list, select any of the options listed at the beginning of this section.
In the Start Date field, select the date and time you want your event to start on.

Note: The start date of a business event must be equal to or higher than the current date.A minimum interval of 24 hours is required for all business events. For CPU patching events, the Start Date is automatically set at the start of the next Oracle recommended CPU patching window. |
In the End Date field, enter the date and time you want your event to end on.

Note: The end date of a business event must be equal to or higher than its start date.To create an additional event, click the Add Event button on the Create Business Event dialog box and enter the event details, as listed above. You can create up to five business events at a time. For CPU Patching events, you need to select the environment type and the environment they apply to. For CPU patching on production instances, a minimum interval of two days (48 hours) is required. For CPU patching on production support instances, a minimum interval of three-weekday range (72 hours) is required. |
Click Save.
The Your business event was successfully saved. message is displayed in the upper left side of the page, and the business event is included in your calendar.
The Calendar List View provides the following details about your business events:
the event type
the environment affected by the business event
the start date of the business event (in your selected timezone)
the end date of the business event (in your selected timezone)
To see the full summary of a business event:
Navigate to the Calendar Monthly View or the Calendar List View, as explained in Accessing the Calendar Dashboard and Navigating the Calendar Dashboard.
Select the timezone you want to view events on. The selected timezone is displayed on the Calendar Dashboard.
Click the event of your interest.
The Business Event Details dialog box opens., displaying the following details:
Type: Specifies the business event type.
Category: Specifies the event type category. Available options include:
Date Period
Change
Other
Created By: Specifies the user who created the business event. Available options include:
Customer
Oracle
Summary: Provides a description of the business event.

Note: This information is available only for Oracle-added events. |
Service: Displays a list of services affected by the business event, if any.
Environment: Shows a list of environments affected by the business event, if any.

Note: This information is only available for Oracle-added events and CPU Patching events created by customer users with the Authorized Approver role. |
Start Date (in your selected timezone): Specifies the date and time when the business event starts.
End Date (in your selected timezone): Specifies the date and time when the business event ends.
Only customer users with the Authorized Approver role can edit business events. Furthermore, business events can only be edited if their start date is equal to or higher than the current date.

Note: Customer users with the Authorized Approver role cannot create, edit, or delete CPU patching events for the current CPU release cycle, but can do so for subsequent ones. Oracle events cannot be edited.For CPU patching events on production instances, a minimum interval of two days (48 hours) is required. For CPU patching events on production support instances, a minimum interval of three-weekday range (72 hours) is required. |
To edit a business event:
Navigate to the Calendar Monthly View, as explained in Accessing the Calendar Dashboard and Navigating the Calendar Dashboard.
Select the timezone you want to view events on. The selected timezone is displayed on the Calendar Dashboard.
Click a customer-specific event whose scheduled start date is equal to or higher than the current date, then select Edit.
The Edit Business Event dialog box opens.
Make the required changes in the Event Type, Start Date or End Date fields (both displayed on your selected timezone).

Note: The start date of a business event must be higher than the current date, while the end date of a business event must be higher than its start date. |
Click Save.
The Your business event was successfully saved. message is displayed in the upper left side of the page.
Only customer users with Authorized Approver role can delete the business event types listed in Working with Business Events.

Note: Customer users with the Authorized Approver role cannot create, edit, or delete CPU patching events for the next CPU release cycle. Oracle events cannot be deleted. |
To delete a business event:
Navigate to the Calendar Monthly View, as explained in Accessing the Calendar Dashboard and Navigating the Calendar Dashboard.
Select the timezone you want to view events on. The selected timezone is displayed on the Calendar Dashboard.
Click a customer-specific event whose scheduled start date is equal to or higher than the current date, then select Delete.
The Business Event Removal Confirmation dialog box opens.
Click Apply.
The Your business event was successfully removed. message is displayed in the upper left side of the page.
Use the filter at the top of the Calendar Monthly View and List View tabs to display only the records of interest. Available options include:
All Events: Use this option to display both change and business events. This is the default selection.
Business Events: Use this option to display only business event records.
Change Events: Use this option to display only change request records.
The selected filter is automatically remembered across the Calendar dashboard.
Use the search box at the top of the Calendar List View tab to help you narrow down the list of events. Available search criteria include:
RFC number or RFC description for MOS RFC events
event description or event type for business events
Oracle Pulse lets you create groups of services for which to generate your reports. To do this:
Click the Service Group icon (
) in the upper right corner of the page.
The Service Group side pane opens.
Select the check boxes corresponding to the services you want to include in your service group.
Click Apply to save your changes and create your service group. The data on the Calendar Dashboard is refreshed to show data only for the services you have selected, and the Service Group icon (
), along with the number of selected services, is displayed in the upper part of the dashboard.

Note: When a service group is applied, data on change requests is displayed for the services in your service group, while data on business events is displayed for all the services associated with your organization. |
