View Room Availability for Blocks Using Group Rooms Control

00:06

In this video, you will learn how to view room availability for blocks on the Group

00:10

Rooms Control screen. Let's get started.

00:13

In OPERA Cloud, go to Bookings, select blocks,  and then select Group Rooms control.

00:20

Enter a property, a start date, and any additional information,

00:25

then click search to view the  room availability for blocks.

00:28

Now, I can see a daily summary  of rooms set aside for blocks.

00:33

I click the arrow to scroll through dates. Next, I click the calendar icon to

00:38

select a different date range. In this example, I click June 8th.

00:48

Now, I see the date range change and the  colors display on the 7th and 8th of June.

00:55

Click the Day Details tab to view the  legend and the color descriptions.

00:59

In this example, I see the green on  June 7 indicates a special event,

01:03

and on both June 7th and 8th there is a rate  protect and a non compete indicated.

01:09

The Rate protect option is only available  when the Lowest Rate Guaranteed OPERA Control

01:14

is active. The rate protect means no other  groups should be booked using rates lower

01:19

than the rates assigned to the block. The black color indicates a non-compete

01:23

rate meaning no competing accounts, which are  accounts designated with the NC industry code

01:29

should be booked for the same dates as  the block marked as non-compete.

01:35

This option is only available when the  Non Compete OPERA Control is active.

01:41

The color descriptions typically include special  events, holidays, day types, and Rate Protect

01:47

(RP) and Non-Compete (NC) indicators. Depending on your OPERA Cloud configuration

01:54

you may see a different legend and  different color descriptions based

01:57

on the services active for the property. Click view options, to turn on or off display

02:02

options by selecting or unselecting the checkbox  and then scrolling down to click apply.

02:11

I can click the vertical ellipse to  create a block, create a master block,

02:16

or to create a master allocation.

02:18

Or I can click the plus or the minus sign to  show or hide the block summary details.

02:28

I can also click the block code or the account  name to go directly to the block or the account.
