Configuring Catering Package Pricing

Catering packages can include a package price code covering the various event components the package offers. You can configure a flat price catering package or a per person package. When booking a flat price package, the revenue associated with the events is applied and does not change based on the number of attendees on the package. Use the following steps to configure a package price code.

Adding Pricing to Packages

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Resource Management, and then select Catering Package/Template Setup.

  2. Enter or confirm the Property, click Packages type, and click Search.

    Note:

    If you select Templates type or Both types, the option for pricing will not be available as pricing is specific to packages.
  3. From your search results, select the package, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Edit.

  4. In the Pricing panel, click New and enter the following details:

    1. Price Code. Enter a code that represents the price details, such as 2021MPKG.

    2. Description. Enter a description for the price code, such as 2020-2021 Meeting Package.

    3. Market Code. Select a market code, if applicable. Selecting a Market Code limits the availability of the price code based on the Market Code of the block. When the market code selected matches the market code of the block, the price code becomes available.

    4. Sell Date From and To. Enter the date range the package price is available for sale.

    5. Booking Type. Visible when the OPERA Control is Business Block Type is On, select a booking type, if applicable. Selecting a Booking Type limits the availability of the price code based on the booking type of the block. When the booking type selected matches the booking type of the block, the price code becomes available.

    6. Block Date From and To. Enter the data range the block must be within for this price code to be available.

    7. Attendees Minimum. Enter the minimum number of attendees for this price code to be available.

    8. Attendees Maximum. Enter the maximum number of attendees for this price code to be available Flat Price.

    9. Flat Price. Select the check box if you are selling the package at a set amount that is not calculated based on the number of attendees.

  5. In the Revenue Details section of the Pricing panel, enter a price for each event and revenue type. The package price will increase.
    1. In the Forecast field, you can also enter the estimated value of the Price Code. The amount entered is this field is used for revenue forecasting. It defaults to the value entered in the Price field when empty.

    2. In the Price field, the amount entered is how much revenue should be allocated for the event and revenue type combination.

    3. The Cost Split field represents the hotel's internal cost and is visible when the OPERA Control for Resource Cost is On. For example, if the package includes a dinner with a menu that includes wine and stuffed chicken, the hotel package pricing could look like the following:

      Dinner + Bev: Forecast: $8 /Price: $8 /Cost Split: $3.50

      Dinner + Food: Forecast: $30 /Price: $30 /Cost Split: $14

  6. If additional Revenue Type records are needed, click New. Add a new revenue type record using the following:

    1. Select the Event Type.

    2. Select a Revenue Type.

    3. Select Ok to save and add the record to the pricing screen.

    4. In the price code configuration screen, the newly created is available. Enter the applicable values for Forecast, Price, and Cost Split.

  7. Click the vertical ellipsis next the New button and select Refresh to update the screen after entering pricing. The revenue detail totals for Forecast, Price and Cost Split update to reflect changes made.

  8. Click Save.

Editing Pricing on Packages

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Resource Management, and then select Catering Package / Template Setup.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. From your search results, select the package, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Edit.

  4. In the Pricing panel, select the Price Code, select the vertical ellipsis, and select Edit.

  5. Make the required changes.

  6. Click Save.

Deleting Pricing from Packages

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Resource Management, and then select Catering Package / Template Setup.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. From your search results, select the package, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Edit.

  4. In the Pricing panel, select the Price Code, select the vertical ellipsis, and select Delete.

  5. Click Delete to confirm.
