Managing Simple Events

You can add basic events to blocks if your property has activated the simple events functionality.

Adding Simple Events

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Search for and open a block.

  3. Scroll to the Events panel and click New.

  4. Enter the following information in the Events panel.

    1. Event Type. Select the Event Type, such as wedding, lunch buffet, or so on. Completing this field automatically populates the Event Name field.

    2. Status. Select the Event Status, such as inquiry, definite, or so on. The field defaults to the current block status.

    3. Attendees. This is the number of expected attendees for the event. The field defaults from the Event Attendees from Block Details, Catering Details.

    4. Set Attendees. Specifies the set number of attendees for the event.

    5. Event Name. Add or update the name of the event.

    6. Start Date / Time. Enter the event start date and time.

    7. End Date / Time. Enter the event End Date and Time.

    8. Space. Select the Event Space.

    9. Setup Style. Select a setup style for the event space.

    10. Rental. Enter a price for the event space rental.

    11. Setup Time/Tear Down Time. Enter the amount of time allotted for staff to set up the room or return it to normal.

    12. Do Not Move. Select the check box to prevent other from moving the event to a different space.

  5. Click Save. Or click Save and Continue to add more events.

Editing Simple Events

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Search for and open the block.

  3. Scroll to the Events panel, click the row level vertical ellipsis of the event, and select Edit.

  4. Update the event. To cancel the event, select Cancelled from the Status field list.

  5. Click Save.

Deleting Simple Events

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Search for and open the block.

  3. Scroll to the Events panel, click the row level vertical ellipsis of the event, and select Delete.

  4. Confirm your decision and click Delete.
