Managing Catering Packages on Blocks

You can attach pre-configured Catering Templates or pre-configured Catering Packages to blocks and add, edit, copy, or delete the events provided in the templates or packages. Events and their resources are priced individually in Catering Templates. In Catering Packages, a total price per person is defined for the events and resources.

Adding Catering Templates to Blocks

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and select Manage Blocks.

  2. Enter or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, click the block’s I Want To . . . action, and select Event From Templates from the Create column.

  4. From the Template Status Options panel, select the Begin Date for the package template. The Begin Date must fall within the block dates.

  5. Select a Set Template Status for the template. Options are:

    1. Catering Status of Business Block INQ. This option sets the template status to match the block status.

    2. Default Catering Status INQ. This option sets the template status to the default status of the template.

  6. Select a template and click Save. The Manage Events screen opens, displaying the events associated with the template package.

  7. From Manage Events, you can create additional events for the template package, edit the events already attached to the template package, or delete events from the template package.

Adding Catering Packages to Blocks

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and select Manage Blocks.

  2. Enter or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, click the block’s I Want To . . . action, and select Book Catering Packages from the Create column.

  4. From the Package Status Options panel, select the Begin Date and End Date for the package.

  5. Select a Set Package Status for the package. Options are:

    1. Catering Status of Business Block INQ. This option sets the package status to match the block status.

    2. Default Catering Status INQ. This option sets the package status to Inquiry.

  6. Select a package and click Save. The Manage Events screen opens, displaying the events associated with the package.

  7. From Manage Events, you can create additional events for the package, edit the events already attached to the package, or delete events from the package.

Editing Catering Packages on Blocks

After adding packages to a block, you can return to the block and add more packages or edit, delete, and copy the existing packages.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Enter or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, click the block’s I Want To . . . action, and select Manage Catering Packages.

  4. Click New to add another package to the block.

    1. In the Search panel, enter search criteria and click Search.

    2. From search results, select the package and click Save. If the Event Processing Screen appears, click Continue to add the package and save only the events that can be processed successfully.

  5. From the Manage Catering Packages screen, you can make the following changes to each package:

    Update Package Description or Attendees.

    1. Select the package and select Edit.

    2. Make your changes and click Save.

    Update Revenue Details.

    1. Select the package, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Pricing.

    2. Update Price or Cost Split and click Save. To delete the package pricing, click the vertical ellipsis and select Delete.

    Delete Packages.

    1. Select the package and click the vertical ellipsis.

    2. Select Delete.

    Copy Packages.

    1. Select the package, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Copy.

    2. Select the Target Block and Dates for the copied package.

Editing Events on Catering Packages

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and select Manage Blocks.

  2. Enter or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, click the block’s I Want To . . . action, and select Manage Events.

  4. Select the event and perform any of the following:

    1. Edit. Click Edit and update the event details as needed in such fields as Expected Attendees, Guaranteed Attendees, Actual Attendees, Start/End Date, Start/End Time, and so on.

    2. Copy to Other Date(s). Click Copy, select the event, select the Target Block and Dates for the copied package, and click Copy Event.

    3. Delete. Click Delete and confirm.
