Add Order Line Message Options

Purpose: The steps to add an order line message are described below.

Add an Order Line Message

1.      Optionally, select a Message Template (Order Line Message Template) to apply.

2.      Define the contents of the message in the New Message (Order Line Message) field to suit your needs. You can use a carriage return to enter as many message lines as you need. Each individual message line cannot be greater than 60 positions. If the order line message you enter here exceeds 60 positions, the system breaks it into message lines of 60 positions or less, inserting the breaks between words where possible

3.      Optionally, use the Print setting (Order Line Message Print Location) to specify where the message should print. The setting defaults to Nowhere.

4.      Select Add Message. The system displays a message indicating the message has been added to the order line, and you return to the Order Line Messages Table in the Order Line Details page, where the new message is displayed.

Update existing message: You can update order line messages, including the Message content and the Print setting, in the Order Line Messages Table. You cannot apply a different order line message template to an existing message. See Update an Order Line Message for more information on updating an order line message.

Delete existing message: You can delete an existing message in the Order Line Messages Table. See Delete an Order Line Message for more information.
