Section a Model using the Sectioning Tool
Use the sectioning tool in Unifier Viewer to add, move, remove, or hide parts of a model and give you a clearer view of a given area of a 3D model. For example, to view an interior of a room, create a section that cuts through the building to show its interior. You can also use multiple sections.
To view 3D files:
- Go to a project/shell tab, and switch to User mode.
- Select a 3D file from your local system or
In the left Navigator, select any of the following nodes:
- Select Document Manager, and then select Documents.
- Select Document Manager, and then select Unpublished Documents.
- Select Tasks, and open a business process:
- Select the Attachments tab, and then select a 3D file attachment.
- Right-click a 3D file, and then select Open.
- In the 3D Files tab, select a 3D file to open it.
- (Optional) Perform any of the following actions:
- To maximize and view the file, select Fullscreen.
- To show or hide the files in the current folder, select File Type (
).
- To view the revision history, select History.
- To close the 3D file, select Close (X).
- Navigate to the viewpoint you want to view, select Sections in the toolbar, and then select New Section.
- To view the section's position and plane, hover over the model to display the red box overlay with those details.
Note: You can exit New Section mode by pressing ESC.
- To create a section plane, select the desired area. You can create up to six planes in a 3D model.
- Perform any of the following actions:
- To move a section through the 3D model, select the drag handle of the section, and move it in the desired direction.
- To remove a single section, right-click its drag handle, and then select Delete Section.
- To clear all sections, select Sections in the toolbar, and select Clear All Sections.
