View Model in Perspective or Orthogonal Modes

3D files or models can be viewed in Perspective (default) or Orthogonal modes.

To view 3D files:

  1. Go to a project/shell tab, and switch to User mode.
  2. Select a 3D file from your local system or

    In the left Navigator, select any of the following nodes:

    • Select Document Manager, and then select Documents.
    • Select Document Manager, and then select Unpublished Documents.
    • Select Tasks, and open a business process:
      1. Select the Attachments tab, and then select a 3D file attachment.
      2. Right-click a 3D file, and then select Open.
  3. In the 3D Files tab, select a 3D file to open it.
  4. (Optional) Perform any of the following actions:
    • To maximize and view the file, select Fullscreen.
    • To show or hide the files in the current folder, select File Type ( ).
    • To view the revision history, select History.
    • To close the 3D file, select Close (X).
  5. Navigate to the viewpoint you want to view, select View Mode, and from the Set Perspective or Orthogonal view menu, select Orthogonal or Perspective.

    In the Perspective view:

    • To rotate the model in 3D, hold the left mouse button down and drag the mouse.
    • To pan, press ALT, hold the left mouse button down, and drag the model in any direction.
    • To zoom in or out, press CTRL, hold the left mouse button down, and move the mouse forward or toward you.

    You can hide the selected object, hide other elements, zoom in and out, and make objects transparent by selecting an object and right-clicking it to open the menu.

  6. To use Field of View, from Set Perspective or Orthogonal view, select Perspective, and then select Field of View.
  7. Perform any of the following actions:
    • To adjust your field of view in real-time, use the slider to change the angle of view in degrees.
    • To obtain precise values, enter values from 1.000 to 179.000. The model view will change when the value is updated.

      The FOV setting is saved with viewpoints and design issues and will also be included in exports. When the viewpoint or design issue is viewed, the model view will be restored with the saved value.
