Adding and Viewing Graphic Markups and Comments
In project or shell documents, you can add text comments or create graphic markups on a document. You can also attach a file directly to a comment (for example, supporting documentation).
You can add comments and markups only to the latest version of a document. For earlier versions, you can view existing comments and markups but cannot add or edit them. If a listed comment was entered using the previous Oracle Outside In Technology (OIT) technology, the comment is labeled OIT Comment and is displayed in a read-only format.
Text comments act as notes that accompany the document without becoming part of it.
Graphic markups function like an invisible overlay. When multiple users add markups, each user’s markup resides on its own “sheet.” You can view them all together, view them one at a time, or hide them. Every markup is associated with a text comment.
Text comments and graphic markups can be copied between business process (BP) records and the Document Manager, including:
- Comments on documents in the Document Manager
- General comments on business process records
- Comments on file attachments in non-Document-type BP records
- Comments on file attachments (line item content) in Document-type BP records
- Markups on file attachments that were added within comments
