Working with My Home Landing Page Sections

The My Home landing page provides multiple sections that contain groups of functional or administrative tiles.

This topic discusses sections that can be created on a My Home landing page in PeopleSoft FSCM.

PeopleSoft FSCM delivers Section templates that you can use with the My Home landing page.

It is recommended that you find a template that you like, copy that template to your production system, and modify the copied template for your own use.

For additional information about landing page templates, see My Oracle Support, Doc ID 3107974.1.

Important! Updates made to a section template take effect after the section template is re-imported into the landing page.

Note about demo data: demo data is dynamic and subject to consumption or aging out over time.

Edit (icon)

There are four edit icons that can appear within sections of the My Home landing page. These sections are: Edit Suggestions, Edit Announcements, Edit Continue With, and Edit Favorites.

  • Edit Suggestions - Select to access the View All Suggestions page.

  • Edit Continue With - Select to access the View All Continue With page.

  • Edit Announcements - Select to access the View All Announcements page.

  • Edit Favorites - Select to access the Edit Favorites page (PORTAL_EDIT_FAV).

View All (link)

Select to access the View All Page for Suggestions, Continue With, or Announcements.

This option appears when the number of tiles exceed those that fit in the section.

Common to the Suggestions, Continue With, and Announcements Section

The Suggestions, Continue With, and Announcements sections operate in similar ways.

When the number of tiles exceed those that fit in the section tile, the section displays the View All link. The number of tiles that appear in the section is controlled by CSS styles for the section template and the device's form factor.

Viewing Aggregate Results

When aggregate results is enabled for a notification, the system consolidates multiple transactions of the same notification types onto one tile with a count of the number of transactions. Select the tile to view a list of all transactions for this notification type. For more information on configuring notifications with aggregate results, see Creating and Managing Notifications with Notification Composer.

Use the My Home - Welcome section (EOHP_WELCOME_SCTN_LP) to view a user greeting with the current date information.

When Resource Management is installed, you can optionally display a photo of the employee in addition to what is displayed in the above example.

Use the Banner Announcement section (EOHP_SYSALERT_SCTN_LP) to view important alerts such as system down times, holiday closures, or other information that organizations want users to see when they first log in.

Banner Announcement

Note: My Home page displays this section when an important system announcement is in place. The section displays only one system message at a time. When no system message is in place, this section is hidden.

This section displays an announcement sent with the Banner Announcement category in Notification Publisher. It is typically for system-wide distribution. For more information, see Setting Up and Publishing Notifications.

Only one system message is displayed at a time when an important system announcement is in place.

When more than one announcement is active, the page displays the announcement with the highest importance. If more than one notification has the same importance level, the earliest created message appears.

If an announcement changes while the user is on this page, the section leverages the PeopleTools Event Aware grouplet functionality, enabling the banner announcement to update without the need to reload the page. Use the Suggestions section (EOHP_SUGGESTEDACTIONS_SCTN_LP) to access system-identified tasks and processes that are sent via a notification event.

My Home - Suggestions

Use this section to view and access task reminders that you need to complete or address. When the number of tiles exceed those that fit in the section, the section displays a View All link. The number of tiles that can appear in the section is controlled by CSS styles for the section template and the form factor for the device.

When there are no outstanding suggestions and you are not an approver, the section displays the text "All caught up!".

Delivered FSCM Notifications and Tiles for the Suggestions Section

This table lists the delivered FSCM notifications and tiles that can be added to the Suggestions section of the My Home Landing page. The image, text, description, and target URL are defined in the Notification Composer.

Tiles that appear in this section:

  • Are dynamic notification tiles.

  • May come from starting tasks that appeared in the Suggestions tile or from starting other transactions that you did not complete.

When the number of tiles exceed those that fit in the section tile, the section displays the View All link. The number of tiles that appear in the section is controlled by CSS styles for the section template and the device's form factor.

When all tasks are submitted or completed, the section displays the text "All caught up!".

Note: Notifications displayed in this section do not require separate security for the tiles.

This table lists the delivered FSCM notifications and tiles that can be added to the Continue With section of the My Home Landing page.

Select the tile to access the View All Continue With page, which displays "Save For Later" transactions made on behalf of bidder responses. You can either dismiss the transaction or access the Create Bidder Response Page, where you can edit and submit the bid.

Note: This applies only to transactions saved for later from the employee portal.

My Home - Announcements

This section displays notifications typically sent using Notification Publisher and displays data that is contextual to the logged-in user. Announcement notifications can contain rich text, images, and embedded links for PeopleSoft or external transactions.

For more information on setting up notifications, see Understanding Notification Composer.

Use the View All page (EOHP_VIEWALL_FL) to review all transactions for a section and mark transactions as complete, if the configuration allows it.

Navigation:

Select the Edit icon or the View All link from the Suggestions, Continue With, or Announcements section.

This example illustrates the fields and controls on the View All Suggestions page. The View All Continue With and View All Announcements pages work similar to this page.

View All

This page displays all transactions that require your attention. The page varies based on the configuration settings and the type of transactions that are available.

The View All Suggestions and View all Continue With pages display filters at the top of the page that allow you to view transactions or select individual filter tiles to narrow the results by transaction type. However, when the View All page is accessed from an aggregate tile in a dynamic section, no filters are displayed.

Note: Filter tiles are not available for static tiles displayed in dynamic sections, such as Approvals Awaiting Action, or the Announcements section.

When using a mobile device, the filters are available as a drop-down field and appear only if there is more than one transaction type in the results.

Select to remove the transaction that you no longer wish to act on. The system removes the transaction from the View All page but does not impact the underlying transaction.

This button is available when the Show Mark Complete option is selected on the Compose Notification - Define Message Content - In-App Page.

Note: Dismissed transactions cannot be restored unless the triggering event occurs again.
