About Oracle Integration Cloud Service Roles and User Accounts

Oracle Integration Cloud Service uses roles to control access to tasks and resources. A role assigned to a user gives certain privileges to the user.

The following table summarizes the responsibilities of each role in the context of Oracle Integration Cloud Service.

Role Privileges Provided By This Role

Oracle Integration Cloud Service Users Role

Enables you to access all parts of Oracle Integration Cloud Service to perform the following tasks:

  • Create, deploy, and monitor integrations.

  • Upload security certificates.

You can assign this role to developers.

Oracle Integration Cloud Service Monitors Role

Enables you to access Oracle Integration Cloud Service to monitor integrations. Only the Monitoring Dashboard is available with this user role. Note the following restrictions with this role:

  • If you click the Integrations, Connections, Lookups, Packages, or Agents icons on the home page, a User is not authorized to perform this action message is displayed.

  • The Administration tab in the upper right corner that enables you to upload security certificates is not visible.

Oracle Integration Cloud Service Runtime Role

Enables you to access runtime services.  This role is assigned to a user and uses SOAP/REST to communicate with services at runtime. This role only has privileges to execute a flow. With this user, you can pass the user name and password for this user to invoke SOAP/REST APIs.

A user with this role can log in, but cannot perform any actions in Oracle Integration Cloud Service, and receives a User is not authorized to perform this action message on the home page.
