Creating a Fleet
Create a product, environment, group, or generic type of fleet in Fleet Application Management.
Creating a fleet helps you group resources based on similarity or defined criteria. Grouping resources can help you view all resources within a tenancy on a single page and find detailed information about a resource or group.
Fleet Application Management supports four fleet types:
- Product: Create a product-type fleet with product-specific resources.
- Environment: Create an environment-type fleet with environment-specific resources for an application type.
- Group: Create a group-type fleet to add a hierarchy to the fleet. For example, you can create a nonproduction fleet by combining existing environment fleets of development, test, and stage under one bucket (group) and perform a lifecycle operation on all before moving them to the production fleet.
- Generic: Create a generic-type fleet without any predefined boundary that's not limiting the fleet to be product-specific or environment-specific. For example, create a generic fleet to maintain a fleet for cost tracking and reporting.
