Adding a Person Mapping from Fusion HCM

Connect to Fusion HCM to map people to their managers and cost centers in a Cost Advisor workspace.

Important

This connection retrieves employee, manager, and cost center information through the supplied HCM extract. Cost Advisor uses that information to associate per-user AI costs with the person's management hierarchy and cost center. For OpenAI API, Anthropic Console, and OCI Generative AI costs, add a separate project ID mapping CSV file.

Coordinate with administrators who can import the supplied HCM extract, authorize a dedicated account, and create a confidential application in the identity domain associated with Fusion HCM. See Preparing Fusion HCM for Person Mapping.

Note

The connection uses a public signing certificate and OAuth JWT assertions. Enter the dedicated integration username, not its password. Cost Advisor for AI doesn't request an OAuth client secret for this connection.
  1. Open the workspace, select Integrations, and then select Add person mapping.
  2. Under Select a mapping source, select HCM connection, and then select Continue.
The Add person mapping setup opens. To use a CSV file instead, see Adding a Person Mapping from a CSV File.
  3. Complete Prepare Fusion HCM.
    1. Download the Cost Advisor for AI HCM extract package.
Extract Oracle-Cost-Advisor-for-AI-HCM-Template.zip and read README.md. The supplied definition is Oracle Cost Advisor for AI.xml.
    2. Create or reuse an active, dedicated Fusion HCM account and record its exact username.
    3. Grant the account permission to run the extract, access its results, and read the required workforce data.
    4. In Fusion HCM, import the supplied extract definition under Data Exchange, Extract Definitions, using the exact name Oracle Cost Advisor for AI.
Follow the preparation topic to apply the required import settings, compile and validate the definition, include the imported flow in the account's payroll flow security profile, and run a first test.
    5. After completing the preparation, select the completion checkbox, and then select Next.
For detailed instructions, see Preparing Fusion HCM for Person Mapping.
  4. Complete Set up the HCM identity domain.
    1. Download the public signing certificate, cost-advisor-for-ai-hcm-public-signing-certificate.pem, and copy the provided Certificate alias, oracle-cost-advisor-hcm-pub-cert.
    2. Create a confidential application in the identity domain linked to Fusion HCM. Configure JWT Assertion, a Trusted client, and Specific authorized resources with the approved Fusion Applications scope for the target environment.
    3. Import the public certificate using the provided alias, save the settings, and activate the confidential application.
    4. Record the identity domain URL, OAuth client ID, and OAuth scope. Select the completion checkbox, and then select Next.
  5. In Connect to Fusion HCM, enter the connection details from the previous steps.
    Fusion HCM environment URL
Under Fusion HCM connection, enter the environment's HTTPS base URL without an application or REST path, query string, or fragment.
    Integration username
Enter the exact Fusion HCM login username of the dedicated account prepared in the first step. Use the username you selected for the integration, rather than the account's display name or OAuth client ID.
    Identity domain URL
Under Identity domain connection, enter the HTTPS base URL of the domain linked to Fusion HCM. Don't include the OAuth token endpoint path.
    OAuth client ID
Copy the client ID of the confidential application created in Set up the HCM identity domain.
    OAuth scope
Copy the complete approved Fusion Applications scope added for the target HCM environment.
  6. Select Add mapping.
Adding the connection takes about 6 to 8 minutes.

Cost Advisor for AI starts the connection checks in the background. You can continue working, review the mapping state on the Integrations tab, and view progress and errors in Work requests.

Successful identity domain authentication alone doesn't confirm that the integration account can run the HCM extract or retrieve its results. Complete the extract and account preparation in Preparing Fusion HCM for Person Mapping.

See Monitoring Cost Advisor Work Requests. You can also add a project ID mapping to the same workspace.
