Integrations give your AI spending and insights organizational context by connecting usage with people, management hierarchies, and cost centers. This helps you understand cost ownership, compare spending across departments, and plan budgets and forecasts.
Connecting several AI providers gives you a broader view of your organization's spending. In Fusion EPM, review costs across providers and departments alongside Cost Advisor's model recommendations and estimated savings to evaluate where to optimize.
You add this organizational information through two types of mapping: person mapping and project ID mapping. Person mapping uses an Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM connection or a CSV file. Project ID mapping uses a separate CSV file.
How Cost Advisor Uses the Mappings
We recommend adding both mappings because they apply to different usage sources. Both mappings are optional. Add them before connecting the Fusion EPM destination so that the delivered Cost Advisor data includes your cost allocations.
Cost Advisor selects a mapping based on the source of the usage and costs. The following table explains what each mapping identifies and which costs it applies to.
| Mapping | Maps | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Person | An individual's email address to a management hierarchy and cost center. | Per-user costs from OpenAI ChatGPT, Codex, and Work, and Anthropic Enterprise. |
| Project ID | An OpenAI project ID, Anthropic workspace ID, or OCI tenancy OCID to a management hierarchy and cost center. | OpenAI API, Anthropic Console, and OCI Generative AI costs. |
For example, Alex might use ChatGPT at work and also own an application that calls the OpenAI API. Cost Advisor uses Alex's person mapping for the ChatGPT costs and the application's OpenAI project ID mapping for the API costs. Each mapping specifies the management hierarchy and cost center for its usage source.
Each mapping supplies its own hierarchy. A project ID mapping doesn't look up person mapping records to complete or replace its hierarchy, and the emails in its hierarchy don't need matching person_id records. You can use a project ID mapping without providing a person mapping. Add both to cover the different usage sources listed in the table.
Both mappings contribute to the Entity hierarchy in Fusion EPM, which represents the organizational structure used for cost attribution. For CSV mappings, the m1 through m11 columns describe that management chain, from the highest level you provide to the lowest populated level. See Person Mapping CSV Fields and Adding a Project ID Mapping from a CSV File for examples.
Person Mapping
On the workspace Integrations tab, select Add person mapping. Under Select a mapping source, select one of the following, and then select Continue:
- HCM connection: Use the supplied HCM Extract template to retrieve employee, manager, and cost center information from Fusion HCM. This supplies the organizational information for person mapping without preparing a person mapping CSV file. See Adding a Person Mapping from Fusion HCM.
- Person mapping CSV: Select this option if you don't have Fusion HCM or prefer to upload person and organizational information manually. Upload a CSV file prepared using the person mapping template. See Adding a Person Mapping from a CSV File.
For help selecting and preparing the source, see Person Mappings.
Project ID Mapping
In this mapping, a project ID identifies the resource used to attribute costs: an OpenAI project, an Anthropic workspace, or an OCI tenancy. Use the provider's resource identifier rather than an internal business project name.
You can include rows for all three providers in one CSV file. Each row identifies the provider and resource, followed by the management hierarchy and cost center responsible for its costs. The provider_code values are OPENAI, ANTHROPIC, and OCI.
On the Integrations tab, select Add project mapping and prepare a CSV file using the project ID mapping template. See Adding a Project ID Mapping from a CSV File.
After Adding a Mapping
Review the mapping state on the Integrations tab. Setup times depend on the mapping source:
- Fusion HCM connection: Adding the connection takes about 6 to 8 minutes. Connection checks begin after you select Add mapping.
- CSV upload and validation: Uploading a person or project ID mapping file takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the file size. Validation is a separate check and takes about 5 minutes, depending on the file size. After submitting the mapping, check the validation result to confirm that the mapping data was accepted.
You can continue working and review progress and errors in Work requests. A successful upload alone doesn't confirm that the file passed validation. If validation fails, review the error log and correct the reported issues. See Monitoring Cost Advisor Work Requests.
