Using Substitution Parameters

Substitution parameters can be added to an export profile to pass in user-defined values to the export process at runtime. The following export types offer the use of substitution parameters:

  • Hierarchy

  • Generation

  • Compare

  • Hierarchy XML

  • Version

  • EPM Architect

The following export options allow the use of substitution parameters:

  • Hierarchy group selection

  • Export query filter criteria

  • Dynamic export columns

  • Header/footer

Substitution parameter formatting is <%ParamKey%>, where <% and %> denote a substitution parameter and ParamKey is the name of the parameter to be used for substitution. For example, <%TopNode%>.
