Viewing Additional Information on the Map

Note: After you select an icon other than the Pan (hand) icon, you must select the Pan icon again to stop using the previously selected icon. For example, if you select the Distance icon, select the Pan icon to stop using the Distance icon.

In addition to locating properties on the map, you can view the following information:

  • Rented and usable space

You can view the rented and usable space for a property if you select the property on the map while the legend for the property is enabled. You enable the legend by selecting Legend from the View list or selecting the Legend icon. The legend displays the space available or rented in the unit of measure in which you set up the building information, such as square feet or meters. You must have the rented and usable space set up using the REN (rented) and USE (usable) codes for the area type in the building setup.

  • Distance between two points on the map, or the accumulated distance between multiple points on the map

Select the Distance icon and then click the map to specify the points whose distance you want to measure. Each time that you click the map, the application puts a marker on the map, draws a line between the points, measures the distance between the points, and displays the distance at the bottom of the map. If you click multiple locations on the map, the application accumulates the distance measured between each successive point. Select the Pan (hand) icon to remove the markers and lines from the map and to stop using the Distance icon.

  • Latitude and longitude

Select Information Panel from the View list, or select the Information icon to show the latitude and longitude at the bottom of the screen. The system displays the latitude and longitude for the location as you move your cursor. The latitude is shown as the Y factor and the longitude is shown as the X factor. The system continues to show the latitude and longitude until you deselect Information Panel in the View list or you click the Information icon again.

    Note:

You must run the Initial Load of Address Book Geo Code UBE (R01120) or the system does not display the latitude and longitude.

See Using Address Book Geocoding in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications Address Book

  • Area within boundaries that you specify on the map

Select an area using the Rectangular Selection, Circular Selection, and Polygon Selection icons, or select the Area icon and then click the map to form the area you want to measure. The area appears on the bottom left of the map in miles or kilometers, depending on your setup.
