Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Pan

Zoom and pan controls enable you to move to a more specific or less specific view of the map. You can view the map from a very broad view, such as the global map, to a very specific view, such as a location on a street.

To enable the zoom control panel, select Zoom Controls from the View menu. You can use the Pan buttons on the panel to move the map in a specific direction, such as North or Northeast. You can also move the button on the vertical slider to change to a more or less specific view. Additionally, the Zoom in and Zoom out icons enable you to change the map to a more or less specific view.

By default, the map opens with the Pan control enabled. When in Pan mode, you can double-click the map to zoom in. You can also click the map and drag the view to another portion on the map. If you switch from Pan mode to use another control, you must select the Pan icon to re-enable the zoom in action when you double-click the map.
