Understanding the Framework Edit Mode Workspace

You can create content on a new layout or on an existing personal layout. If you select Create from the layout Name drop-down list, only the enabled EnterpriseOne form appears on the workspace. If you select an existing layout from the layout Name drop-down list, the framework shows the enabled EnterpriseOne form and all content that has been saved on that layout.

You can create new content and you can reuse existing content. Reusable existing content can be retrieved by clicking the Open Existing Content icon and dragging and dropping the desired content on to the workspace. In edit mode, you can add, delete, and reposition content on a layout. If you select a shared layout to modify, you must reserve the layout before you can make changes to it.

When you create and save content, the content appears in a content frame that you position vertically or horizontally on the framework. All content must be saved to a layout. If you have publishing permission, you can request that the layout be published so that it is available for other users who are authorized to use the enabled EnterpriseOne form on the Composite Application Framework. These are shared layouts. If you do not have publishing permission, you can create content and layouts, but the layouts are available to you only. These are personal layouts.
