Working with the Oracle Database Client

If your EnterpriseOne Development Client will connect to an Oracle database (that is, an enterprise database that resides on a database server), you must install a 64- or 32-bit version of the Oracle database client and then copy your tnsnames.orafile to a subdirectory under the database client installation directory.

Note: 64- vs. 32-bit Oracle database drivers. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development Client loads Oracle database driver DLLs to connect to an Oracle database. The bitness of the Oracle database driver DLLs must match the bitness of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development Client. These Oracle database driver DLLs are provided by an Oracle database client. Therefore, you need to install an Oracle database driver client of the same bitness as the EnterpriseOne Development Client.
