Understanding MCP Server

The MCP server is a deployable component that customers can configure for their PeopleSoft environment.

In the MCP server configuration, administrators define the tools that should be available to AI agents, AI-powered applications, or other MCP-enabled integrations. These tools can point to PeopleSoft APIs, services, or search capabilities that the customer chooses to expose. This configuration helps control which PeopleSoft capabilities are available through the MCP server.

For example, an AI agent can invoke an MCP tool that calls a PeopleSoft API built with the Application Services Framework. That API can apply the business logic and security already defined in PeopleSoft, and return the appropriate response to the AI-driven experience.
