About AIDP Unit Usage and Pricing
An AIDP Unit is the unit of measurement used to meter generative AI model consumption in Oracle Analytics Cloud.
AIDP Units reflect the total AI work required to fulfill a request. This work can include the model used, the amount of content processed and generated, and any compute provisioned to execute the request. A single interaction can combine model inference with compute, so AIDP Units provide one consistent measure across different kinds of AI work.

What Determines AIDP Unit Consumption?
The number of AIDP Units used for a request depends on these factors:
- Model used - Models have different relative costs. A more capable model can consume more AIDP Units for the same request.
- Amount of content processed and generated - Larger, more detailed, or more complex requests can consume more AIDP Units than short, simple requests.
- Size of the dataset - Working with a dataset that has many fields and alternate field names can consume more AIDP Units than working with a smaller, simpler dataset.
- Configuration and usage of an AI Assistant - Instructions, attached reference documents, and the complexity of a request can require more processing steps and consume more AIDP Units.
- Compute provisioned - Some interactions provision compute to execute the request, such as running generated code or performing on-the-fly analysis. The compute used is included in the interaction's AIDP Unit total.
Typical AIDP Unit Consumption
The following table illustrates the approximate AIDP Units consumed by AI interaction. Actual consumption varies with the model selected and the factors described above.
The values presented in the table are estimates. Actual AIDP Unit consumption can vary with the model selected, the size and complexity of the request, and any compute provisioned to execute it. Generative AI features consume AIDP Units only when used. There is no idle or baseline charge.
