Generate a Presentation Column Description

Use AI to generate descriptions for the presentation columns in your semantic model. The generated descriptions provided meaning and business purpose to help authors and business users understand what the data represents.

Oracle Analytics adds the description to the column's Description field, where you can review, edit, and save it as part of your semantic model.
For example, suppose you create a presentation column such as Office. When you use AI to generate the column's description, Oracle Analytics analyzes the column's business context and generates a concise description that summarizes the information the column represents, such as an office name used to organize and analyze business data. The description Oracle Analytics generates for the Office column may be similar to "Market description for an office, providing context for sales analysis."
The generate presentation column descriptions feature uses a large language model (LLM) that is registered and activated on your Oracle Analytics environment. Your administrator registers and activates the generative AI service.
You can also use AI to generate descriptions for individual presentation tables and to rename presentation columns. See Generate a Presentation Table Description and Automatically Rename Presentation Columns.
