Configure the Behavior of Data Point Tooltips

Use the Tooltip Guide property to specify how the tooltips display on a visualization when a consumer hovers over a data point.

The Tooltip Guide property is available only for axis-based visualizations, excluding scatter graphs and Gantt charts.

The options for the Tooltip Guide property are:

• Hover: The tooltip displays and follows your cursor. This is the default.
• Ruler (snap): The tooltip shows at a fixed line in the center of the data point.
• Ruler (smooth): The tooltip moves smoothly along a line following your cursor.

1. On your home page, hover over a workbook, click Actions, and select Open.
2. Select the visualization on the canvas.
3. Click Properties.
4. In the Tooltip Guide row, click Hover and select another option.
5. Click Save.
