Create a Filter Group (Preview)
Use these steps to create a filter group.
You can add the following filter types to a filter group:
- List
- Top Bottom N
- Range
- Date Range
- Relative Time
- Expression

- On your home page, hover over a workbook, click Actions, then select Open.
- To create a filter group as a workbook or canvas filter, in the filter bar, click Add Filter
, then click Create Filter Group. - To create a filter group as a visualization filter, in the Filters section of the Grammar pane, click Drop Target Options, then click Create Filter Group.
- In the Filter Group dialog, in the Label field, give your group a name.
- Click Add Filters
. - To add a list, top bottom N, range, date range, or relative time filter:
- Select the column you want to filter on.
- In the Filter dialog, configure the filter type and the values to filter on.
- To add an expression filter:
- Click Create Expression Filter.
- In the Expression Filter dialog, define your expression, and click Apply.
- Add more filters as needed to your filter group.
- To change the operator to Or, click And.
- Click Save.
