Create a Filter Group (Preview)

Use these steps to create a filter group.

Currently, you can create filter groups only from the filter bar. To use a filter group as a visualization filter, you can drag the filter group from the filter bar to the Filters area of the Grammar pane for a specific visualization.

Filters in a filter group are applied in the order they appear within the group and you can use the operators AND or OR to combine them.

  1. On your home page, hover over a workbook, click Actions, then select Open.
  2. In the filter bar, click Add Filter Add Icon, then click Create Filter Group.
  3. In the Label field, give your group a name.
  4. Click Add Filters (+).

  5. Click Create Expression Filter, define your expression, and click Apply.
  6. Add more filters as needed to your filter group.
  7. To change the operator to Or, click And.
  8. Click Save.
