About Shared Calculations

In Oracle Analytics, you can create shared calculations that other users can reuse across multiple workbooks. Shared calculations help maintain consistency and reduce duplicate work.

To make a calculation shareable, you add it to the Shared Objects folder of the workbook's dataset. As a shared object, it's accessible from any other workbooks that use the same dataset or subject area. When you modify a shared calculation, the changes affect all workbooks that use it.

Note:

You can't share Group Calculations or Time Series Calculations by adding them to the Shared Objects folder.

To create or modify shared objects in a dataset, you need Read-Write permission, see Add or Update a Dataset's Permissions. To create or modify shared objects in a subject area, you need Write permission, see Manage a Subject Area's Permissions. To use a shared object in a workbook, you only need read access to the dataset or subject area.
