About Shared Filter Groups (Preview)

In Oracle Analytics, you can make filter groups shareable to reuse them in different workbooks.

Shared filter groups are available for preview. Ask your administrator to turn on the Enable Shared Filter Groups in Workbooks option in System Settings. See Preview System Settings.

You might have a filter combination that's useful in more than one workbook. You can create a filter group to combine the individual filters and then make the group shareable so you and other authors can quickly apply them in separate workbooks.

To make a filter group shareable, you add it to the Shared Objects folder of the workbook's dataset or subject area. As a shared object, it's accessible from any other workbooks that use the same dataset or subject area. This means that both you and other authors can use the filter group without having to recreate it. Because the filter group is a shared object, when you modify it, the changes affect all workbooks that are using it.

If you create a filter group in the filter bar and pin it to make it a workbook filter that applies to all canvases, and then make the filter group shareable, the pin doesn’t persist when the filter group is used in another workbook.

Depending on the filter settings you configure in Present for filter groups used in the filter bar or as visualization filters, consumers can view and add shared filter groups. However, they can't modify or unlink shared filter groups.
