Use OCI Generative AI Cohere Embed Models

To use Use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Generative AI Cohere Embed models, you need to install them in your OpenSearch knowledge base.

  1. In the navigation pane, select Projects.
  2. Select the project that contains your knowledge base.
  3. Configure OpenSearch and OCI Generative AI Cohere Embed model information.
    1. In your project, in the left toolbar, select Integration Integrations icon.
    2. In the Lookups section, next to the ConfigurationsLookups, click Actions Actions icon, then select Edit.
      The ConfigurationsLookups page is displayed.
    3. Complete the fields for your OpenSearch knowledge base.
      • OCIGenerativeAIEndpoint: Specifies the endpoint to connect to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Locate your Generative AI endpoints in the Oracle Cloud Console. See Listing Endpoints.
      • OpenSearchCompartmentOcid: OCID of the compartment in which your OpenSearch cluster resides. Must be an Oracle tenancy.
      • OCIGenerativeAIModelId: OCI Generative AI Cohere Embed Model to install in the OpenSearch cluster. For example: cohere.embed-v4.0. For a list of OCI Generative AI Cohere Embed models, see Cohere Embedding Models.
      • MaxChunkSizeInTokens: Size of chunks that are retrieved, in number of tokens. This is the maximum amount of text that the AI can process in a request.
    4. Click Save.
  4. Activate and run the Register OCI Generative AI Embedding Models integration to install the models.
    1. In your project, in the left toolbar, select Integration Integrations icon.
    2. In the Integration section, next to the Register OCI Generative AI Embedding Models, click Actions Actions icon, then select Activate.
    3. In the Integration section, next to the Register OCI Generative AI Embedding Models, click Actions Actions icon, then select Run.

      Click Run again in the Configure and run page. If you experience any errors, run the integration again.

      OCI Generative AI Cohere embed models are installed in your OpenSearch cluster.
