Edit Workflow Information

You can edit a workflow's metadata and runtime information.

  1. On the top right of the workflow canvas, click Edit info.

    The Edit info dialog opens.

  2. Enter details in the following fields as needed.
    Field Description
    Name Update the workflow's display name.
    Explain what this workflow does Provide a helpful description for what the workflow does.
    Instance identifier

    Specify an instance identifier to uniquely identify each workflow instance at runtime. For example, you can set a purchase order number, such as PO-12346, as the instance identifier.

    You can define it with an expression so that it is determined dynamically. Click Open Expression Editor icon to open the expression editor and build the expression using available data items and functions. See Work with Expressions

    Business key

    Specify a business key to group related workflow instances at runtime. For example, you can set a process classification, such as Purchase Order Payment, as the business key.

    Workflow expires after

    By default, the workflow is set to expire after 90 days or 2160 hours. This is the maximum retention period for workflows. If needed, you can set it to a shorter duration.

  3. Close the Edit info dialog to save your changes.
