Service Console: Access Rules Page

The Access Rules page displays rules used to control network access to Oracle Big Data Cloud clusters. You use the page to view, manage, and create security rules.

Use the Access Rules page to perform the following tasks:

Element Description
Manage this service icon

Menu that provides the following options to manage the cluster:

  • Big Data Cloud Console — Open the Big Data Cloud Console.

  • Start — Start all the virtual machines (VMs) hosting the nodes of the cluster.

  • Stop — Stop all the virtual machines (VMs) hosting the nodes of the cluster.

  • Restart— Restart all the virtual machines (VMs) hosting the nodes of the cluster.

  • Scale Out — Add a single or multiple nodes to this cluster.

  • Access Rules — Manage access rules that control network access to service components.

  • SSH Access — Replace an existing SSH public key or associate another SSH public key to this cluster.

  • View Activity — View activities for all cloud services in your identity domain.

Create Rule

Click to create a new access rule. See Create Access Rules.

Results per page

Specifies the number of results you want to view per page. The default value is 10.

Refresh icon

Refreshes the page.

Status

Displays an icon that indicates whether the access rule is enabled or disabled.

Access rule enabled icon

Indicates the access rule is enabled.

Access rule disabled icon

Indicates the access rule is disabled.

Rule Name

Name of the access rule. When creating an access rule, this must start with a letter, followed by letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores.

Source

Hosts from which traffic is allowed. Possible value is PUBLIC-INTERNET, or a custom value in the form of an IP address.

Destination

Security list to which traffic is allowed. 

Ports

Port or range of ports for the access rule.

Protocol

Protocol for the access rule.

Description

Description of the access rule (optional).

Rule Type

Type of access rule. Access rule types are:

  • DEFAULT—Access rules created automatically when the Oracle Big Data Cloud cluster was created. Can be enabled or disabled, but not deleted.

  • SYSTEM—Access rules created by the system. Cannot be enabled, disabled, or deleted.

  • USER—Access rules created by you or another user. Can be enabled, disabled, or deleted.

Menu that provides the following options:

  • Enable—Enables the access rule.

  • Disable—Disables the access rule.

  • Delete—Deletes the access rule (USER rules only).
